Meet Andi – Our new AI phone assistant!
From 2 November, Orchard Surgery will be introducing Andi, our new AI phone assistant.
We know that waiting on the telephone can be frustrating, particularly during our busiest times. Andi is being introduced to make contacting the surgery quicker and easier and to help us manage calls more efficiently.
What will happen when I call?
When you telephone Orchard Surgery, Andi will answer your call and ask how the surgery can help you.
If you are contacting us to submit a medical request, Andi can guide you through the questions over the telephone and submit the information for you. You can still complete our online Anima form yourself in the usual way if you prefer.
Andi is able to deal with multiple callers at the same time, helping to reduce the need to wait in a telephone queue.
Is AI making decisions about my healthcare?
No.
Andi is there to help collect your information and get your request to the surgery. Clinical requests will continue to be reviewed and triaged by our GP and Advanced Nurse Practitioner team, so that you can be directed to the most appropriate care.
What if I am elderly or don’t use the internet?
Please don’t worry. You do not need to be confident using technology or have internet access to speak to Andi. If you need to submit a medical request, Andi can help you complete the necessary information over the telephone.
Same care. A smarter way to contact us.
The way you first contact us may be changing, but our commitment to looking after our patients remains the same.
We hope Andi will provide a better experience for everyone by making it easier to contact the surgery, reducing time spent waiting on the telephone and allowing our team to spend more time supporting our patients.
Andi launches at Orchard Surgery from 2 November.
